For information about becoming involved in one of the following Parish Prayer Groups, please contact the Pastoral Center at 772-6182.

Adult Prayer Group: This group meets every other Monday night to share a potluck dinner and scripture, and uses a model of prayer called Breaking Open the Word, for scripture reflection.  For further information, call Deb Yoo at 773-2965. This group has been meeting for 13 years. While they are at capacity with regards to members, they are always willing to share what they have learned over the years for people starting their own groups.

The Marys and Elizabeths: Because of the various age groups represented in this group of women, they choose to call themselves the Marys and Elizabeths. Beginning their third year, participants attend from a number of parishes, and meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday evenings. Their prayer, sharing, and reflection are focused on the unique spirituality of women in the Church, in scripture, and in modern life.  For further information, call Liane Hamann 879-1907

Portland Pax Christi: Portland Pax Christi is an organization to which a number of parishioners belong. Not a prayer group per se, Pax Christi is an international organization whose members promote non-violence on all levels from the personal to the global. The local group sponsors an annual retreat; its members are active throughout the year in peace work.  For further information, call Bill or Ursulla Slavick 773-6562.

If you are interested in learning more about any one of these groups, if you are interested in beginning a group of your own, or if you have information about groups which have not been included, please talk with members of the Worship and Spirituality Commission. Visit our church, or call or write to the Parish Office at 207-772-6182, e-mail tsacred@maine.rr.com  .

Prayers of the Faithful

We are asked for special prayers for those who have suffered the loss of a child.

Remember the needy of our parish with love. Visit the lonely, heal the sick, feed the hungry, give to the poor.
